FAQ

The FlowGen wind turbine has nominal power of 10kW. The energy output depends on conditions at the specific location. Due to its high efficiency, the FlowGen wind turbine will produce more electricity than other small wind turbines with the same nominal power at the same location, even at lower wind speeds.

By using location analysis tools developed with external partners that include IT solutions and wind simulations (CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics), we are able to determine the likely electricity production. We can also calculate the business case during the initial phase of the project in a rapid, cost effective and very precise way to ensure the best possible ROI, with no need for long-term wind measurement on site.

  • Our energy management system allows for the integration of our wind turbines into existing microgrids or for the creation of new microgrids by combining wind, solar, storage and energy distribution systems with no need for additional controls or energy management systems.
  • Our wind turbines have a modular design and can therefore be scaled from kilowatts to several megawatts.
  • Our wind turbine is highly efficient thanks to an aerodynamic rotor blade design that guarantees maximum power output.
  • By selecting lightweight materials and limiting the overall weight, our wind turbines can be installed on the roof of buildings or integrated into existing architecture.
  • The FlowGen wind turbine is a high quality but cost effective product, its components manufactured using automated processes that meet with automotive and industrial standards.

Our turbines are not in direct competition with PV solar panels. On the contrary, the two methods of generation can be combined to achieve an even higher and more consistent output across the same surface area. Solar panels can in fact be placed between our wind turbines.

Compared to solar plants, wind turbines have the advantage of occupying a smaller surface area and also offer the possibility to produce energy during the night.

The FlowGen wind turbine emits around 32dB at a distance of 20 meters and so is quieter than most refrigerators.

 

Our wind turbine is equipped with a yaw system, a component responsible for orienting the wind turbine rotor towards the wind. Thanks to our own intelligent control, the wind turbine is automatically aligned with the wind direction.

All the relevant wind turbine data is collected and can be viewed via a web application.

As a system provider of turnkey solutions, we always consider the entire project, which depends on the site conditions as well as customer requirements.
